About the event
The Digital Design Community invites you to an exclusive evening at Space/Craft Worldwide’s headquarters on Long Island, celebrating the outcomes of the inaugural Advanced Manufacturing/Materials in Architecture & Design Workshop (AMAD). This initiative brought together five leading design firms in collaboration with Cemex, Thornton Tomasetti, and Space/Craft Worldwide, resulting in projects that push the boundaries of cementitious materials, structural optimization, and advanced fabrication processes. The completed prototypes showcase the intersection of design, engineering, and fabrication, advancing architectural practice through collaboration and material innovation.
This event offers a rare opportunity to explore cutting-edge fabrication facilities that are typically accessible only to project collaborators. Guests will:
Tour the workshop floor and meet the innovative team behind the machinery, combining advanced robotics, precision CNC fabrication, and traditional craftsmanship.
Hear presentations from leading global design firms — BIG, HKS, SOM, LAVA, and Ennead — sharing their design strategies and fabrication approaches from the AMAD workshop.
Engage in a tactile exploration of the finished prototypes during the closing reception, where attendees can get up close with the material and fabrication outcomes.
The evening blends design dialogue, technology, and hands-on experience, creating a unique environment for architects, engineers, and designers to engage with the future of material innovation.
